The Crosstrainers Group was critical to bringing my game to a new level. I played my 15 year old season in Three Hills at a Midget A level. My goal the next year was to make the AAA Midget team in Red Deer. I committed that summer to the Crosstrainers program and that was a critical part in allowing me to advance my hockey career. The biggest part for me was the confidence I had after a summer with Crosstrainers. I always thought I was a good player, but now I knew I was a good player and I believe that inner confidence was huge in getting me over the hump. I was able to play AAA Midget for a couple years, move on to play Junior A Hockey for the Drumheller Dragons, and from there get a Division I Scholarship to play for the Alaska Nanooks in the CCHA. I always felt I had the hockey smarts to play at a pretty high level, but I did not have the physical or mental strength I needed to make the next step in my career. Training with Crosstrainers challenged me physically and mentally. The environment was always positive and upbeat. After every session you left tired as a dog, but still with a smile on your face.
